BEATRICE – A new five-year strategic plan announced by Southeast Community College will focus on continued facility modernization, expanding capacity to produce a skilled workforce and creating new programs to meet employer and community needs.  The plan also targets accessibility to affordable credit and non-credit programming.

SCC President Dr. Paul Illich said input received in formulating the plan included the need for improved promotion of programs, strengthening learning centers, improving credit transfer and expanding dual-credit offerings.

Illich said the school is committed to investing in its communities to become “a national leader in high-contact technical and academic experiences”.

In the past five years, the community college’s strategic plan led to completion of numerous facility construction projects, the addition of six learning centers, a new logo and brand, new programs and conversion to a semester calendar.

The Beatrice Campus has added a new student residence hall, new dining facility, a new soccer field and a soon-to-be opened classroom building.   The campus has also seen renovation of the former Beatrice Business Campus building for use in the SCC Agriculture program.   The SCC Milford Campus has seen construction of a new diesel technology facility and new residence halls.  The SCC Lincoln Campus is adding a Health Sciences Center and is also home to a Career Academy facility.
