SCHUYLER - The Colfax County Board of Commissioners has given the okay for refugee resettlement.

It unanimously approved a letter of consent Tuesday.

Board chairman Carl Grotelueschen said the letter is written for secretary of state Mike Pompeo on behalf of three organizations, including Lutheran Family Services, Catholic Social Services and the Refugee Empowerment Center.

He said the three organizations told him there are around four refugees, but that they couldn't disclose where they are from.

Grotelueschen said the letter has already been signed by Gov. Ricketts and that with the board's approval, the refugees are free to resettle in Colfax County.

He said the hearing and vote on the consent letter is in accordance with an executive order President Trump signed in September.
