COLUMBUS - The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce says small businesses are the backbone of the community.

"Supporting them and making sure they’re thriving and successful means a lot to our community as a whole and how we’re doing,” marketing director Eve Jacobson said.

To help support them, the chamber will be selling Columbus Bucks at the Santa House in Frankfort Square this Saturday.

Columbus Bucks are accepted as cash at participating chamber-member businesses and can be bought as gifts.  The chamber said folks who shop at local stores on Small Business Saturday using Columbus Bucks will save money.

“We hope that people really get into thinking about where they love to shop locally and then going to those stores with their Columbus bucks,” Jacobson said.

That's not the only thing happening on Small Business Saturday.  Folks and their kids can meet Santa, who will be at Frankfort Square at 1 p.m., followed by horse-and-carriage rides.
