Humphrey St. Francis star Allison Weidner commits to Huskers
HUMPHREY, NE -- A northeast Nebraska basketball star will be staying in-state to play her college ball.
Humphrey St. Francis junior Allison Weidner announced on Twitter today that she is committed to play basketball for Head Coach Amy Williams at Nebraska.
"Super excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and basketball career at the University of Nebraska," Weidner said in a tweet. "Thank you to everyone who has helped me in this process! Can’t wait to be a Husker!"
The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 19.8 points, 6.4 assists, 5.8 steals and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Flyers last season. Humphrey St. Francis finished 23-4 in 2018-19 and qualified for the State Tournament.
Weidner helped the Flyers' volleyball team to a runner-up finish is this years' State Volleyball Tournament. She also participates in track and field.
The Nebraska Women's basketball team is 4-0. Williams is in her fourth season leading the Huskers.
