COLUMBUS - Three Vietnam War Veterans were honored with Quilts of Valor Saturday night in Columbus.

John Buggi, Gene Buggi and Richard Treadway were presented quilts at the city's VFW building.

The quilts were made by 4-H members across the state as part of a community service project. The quilts also came with a letter written by those who made them.

All three were impressed with the craftsmanship and the thought that was put into the gift. All three members served in the Army.

And a little story about Treadway.

He actually got married two weeks before being deployed to Vietnam in 1969. He took some R & R while serving to spend some time with his wife in Hawaii.

He and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary is coming up and they're taking the whole family back to Hawaii.
