COLUMBUS - The Columbus Community Hospital Foundation will be putting a multi-million dollar donation towards CCH's expansion project.

CCH says last year the Foundation pledged to donate $2 million to the project, but they exceeded their fundraising goal. This marks the foundation's largest donation to a single hospital project since its inception in 2002 to raise and manage donations exclusively for the hospital.

The $35 million renovation project will expand the hospital's surgical services department, and lead to additional improvements and expansions in other areas of the hospital. The project broke ground this past spring, and is expected to be completed by 2021.

“The Columbus Community Hospital Foundation is a vital partner in our efforts to support our community,” said CCH President and CEO Michael Hansen in a press release. “By working together, the hospital and foundation ensure that our community hospital is able to offer high-quality health care, close to home.”

Funds for CCH's expansion project are being allocated from the hospital's operational budget and donor-designated gifts provided through the CCH Foundation.
