COLUMBUS - An independent recording artist out of David City is starting to receive her first radio plays in Nebraska.

Jae Mauré song "Inevitable" played for the first time in Nebraska on July 4th, and she says that it was a surreal experience to hear her voice for the first time in her home state.

"It hit me and I was excited, but it didn't really hit me right away, and then I had people mentioning to me that they heard my song," Mauré said. "To know that I spoke something so deeply from my heart, and put myself in such a vulnerable state, and people interpreted it and really felt it and loved it, that's what hit me."

Mauré says that she's always had a passion for singing, and that the last couple of years have been a whirlwind for her, but that a bad car accident is what finally drove her to fully pursue her passion.

"When that happened I just decided to jump all-in and follow it, and it's just been flowing," Mauré said. "It hasn't been exactly smooth, I'm not going to say there weren't bumps, but I knew that this is what I'm supposed to be doing, and it felt good."

Mauré says that her support system has been a major part of helping her realize her dreams, and she wouldn't be where she is now with those that have been around her every step of the way.

"That radio play, it wasn't just me, it was family, friends, strangers, people I've worked with in the industry, but most importantly my family," Mauré said. "I have an eight-year-old daughter, and I wouldn't be able to do this at all if it wasn't for them, they've been there for everything."

Mauré is now preparing to debut her song "High" this weekend in Omaha, and believes that she is on the right track to continue following her passions wherever they may lead.

"I feel like I was thrown the ball, and now I'm just running for it, the momentum is there and I don't want to lose it," Mauré said. "I have a timeline in my notebook of what's going to happen, so the next six months is just going to be a rolling ball."

Mauré's music is available on every streaming platform.
