Assault involving injury in weekly Valentine Police report

An assault involving injuries, along with a case of animal cruelty and neglect, were among the incidents recently handled by Valentine police.

During the week of March 15th to March 21st, the following arrests were made by the Valentine Police Department:

 On March 18th, at 5:50PM, a traffic stop near the intersection of B and Cherry Streets lead to the arrest of a 21 year old NE male for driving under suspension.

 On March 18th, at 6:10 PM, a trespassing complaint in the 600 block of West Highway 20 lead to the arrest of a 50 year old Nebraska man for the offense of criminal trespassing.

 On March 19th, at 7:05 AM, a disturbance was reported in the 500 block of North Government Street.  A 31 year old Nebraska female was contacted and arrested for Third Degree Domestic Assault and disturbing the peace.

 On March 19th, a search warrant was served in the 600 block of Macomb Street.  A 34 year old Nebraska man was subsequently arrested for Animal Cruelty and Neglect.

 On March 19th, an office investigating a vandalism complaint from earlier in the month arrested a 65 year old South Dakota man for criminal mischief.

 On the 20th, an officer responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of North Main Street.  A 59 year old South Dakota man was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace.

 On the 21st, an officer made contact with an injured person near the intersection of 2nd and Macomb Streets.  This lead to the arrest of a 24 year old South Dakota man on charges of domestic assault.

 In all the police department responded to 44 calls for service during the week, including:

14 traffic stops, 2 welfare checks, 1 suspicious person or vehicle, 3 trespassing complaints, and one non-injury accident.
