CHAPPELL – Support continues to rise for those impacted by the Morrill Fire.

Leaad Farms in Central Nebraska is donating fencing and feed for ranchers impacted by the Morrill Fire. Cale Carlson, owner of Leaad Farms, and his daughter Laura who is known for “Laura Farms,” will be donating to any farmer/rancher who is experiencing loss due to the fire.

Nicholle Renshaw, Federal Crop Agency, said they learned about the donation Sunday.

“We just found out this afternoon a contact that we have from the Aurora area with Leead Farms and Laura Farms. They’re donating hay and fencing for anybody impacted by the fires,” Renshaw said.

Laura Farms will be delivering supplies Monday morning, and Carlson will be making a second delivery later in the week.

Deliveries will be made to the Larry and Kevin Flohr’s farm, 2611 Road 189, north of Chappell.

“Basically, they are going to, they’re hauling it all out and they’re dropping it off at the Flohr’s place. Basically, they’re going to drop everything and then we will have people out there helping people load what they need and all of that,” she said.

Renshaw said everything should be dropped off at 11 a.m. Federal Crop Agency is helping facilitate the donations, she said.

The fire that started Thursday near Angora has scored at least 500,000 acres from north of Bridgeport to Arthur and Keith Counties.
