LINCON, Neb. — In the finale of the 2026 Nebraska girls high school basketball season, it came down to the very last shot.

We may have saved the best for last in the D-1 championship between undefeated Bloomfield and #6 Howells-Dodge, but it didn’t always seem that way. The Jaguars scored the first 14 points of the night and held Bloomfield to just four points in the first quarter. Slowly but surely the Queen Bees battled back and brought the game to within three within the final moments, but ran out of time with a missed three-pointer at the buzzer. Howells-Dodge survives 45-42.
