Alexis Markowski joins NCN as TV analyst for girls state basketball tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. — One of Nebraska's most decorated female basketball players is taking her talents to the TV booth.

Alexis Markowski will make her broadcasting debut as a color analyst for News Channel Nebraska during the network's coverage of the NSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament the week.

"We're thrilled to have Alexis join our team of talented announcers," executive director of sports content, Brandon Aksamit said. "Her accomplishments speak for themselves, and we're excited to see her bring that experience to the broadcast booth."

Markowski will feature in four games:

  • Wednesday, March 4 - Red Cloud vs Sumner-Eddyville-Miller - 6 p.m. CT

  • Wednesday, March 4 - Falls City Sacred Heart vs Wynot - 7:45 p.m. CT

  • Friday, March 6 - Class A Semifinals - Teams TBD - 1:30 p.m. CT

  • Friday, March 6 - Class A Semifinals - Teams TBD - 3:15 p.m. CT

Markowski, a Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year, led Lincoln Pius X to back-to-back Class A state titles in 2020 and 2021 before continuing her career at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She finished her highly decorated Husker career last season as the program's all-time leader with 53 double-doubles.
