Congratulations to all of the athletes from Southeast Nebraska-area schools who are competing in the 2026 Nebraska Girls Wrestling State Championships this week in Omaha!

A total of 21 athletes from seven different schools across this part of the state will hit the mats to compete in Nebraska's second standalone girls wrestling state championships, a reflection of the seismic growth in popularity this sport has seen not just in this part of the country but across all levels nationwide.

There are only two classes in girls wrestling this year, with 14 weight classes in each, and some Southeast Nebraska athletes should be considered frontrunners not just to place but to earn high finishes on their respective podiums. Of the 21 local competitors, seven finished first in their district brackets at the start of the month, and six were medalists at the state tournament a year ago.

Beatrice figures to be a major player for the team podium in Class A, headlined by sophomore Aubrey Johnson and junior Andie Jo Gibson, both of whom placed in the top four of their classes last year. Gibson is one of just seven girls wrestlers in the state that has yet to lose a match this year (37-0).

In Class B, Johnson County Central's wrestlers that figure to shine the brightest this week compete at the lowest weights. Junior Haylee Trew (100) and senior Alejandra Reyes (105) were both stellar last year en route to second place finishes and are back as the top seeds in their brackets this year looking for another excellent run.

The following is a list of all of the qualifiers for the 2026 NSAA Girls Wrestling state championships from local schools, organized by class and weight. This page will be updated with results at the end of every day. For all the latest updates all week long, tune in to Ol' Red 99.5 or KWBE at the top of every hour to hear the latest results and bracket breakdowns involving Southeast Nebraska wrestlers.
