Rockets Land Split in Bulldog Territory on Tuesday

AUBURN, NE - The Syracuse Rockets split a road doubleheader on the basketball court in Auburn on Tuesday, as heard on B103.
In the girls' contest, Syracuse used a big third quarter to build a 16-point lead on the way to a 45-32 win. The Rockets were led by Bridget Donovan's thirteen points, while teammate Natalee Wemhoff dropped in ten. Ariale Franke finished with twelve for Auburn, with ten of those points coming before halftime. Auburn fell to 8-13 on the season, while Syracuse improved to 7-13.
For the guys, Syracuse kept it close for a half, but the Bulldogs doubled up the Rockets in third quarter points to build a 16-point advantage on the way to a 57-37 victory. Auburn's Ryan Guenter sunk 17 points, sending 13 of those down before the break, while teammate Brenton Wenzl also hit for 17, courtesy in large part to five 3-pointers. Brayan Palmer also found double digits with a dozen points. Syracuse saw Max Parde score eleven in the first half and finish with 14 on the night. Syracuse slid to 14-6 with the loss, while Auburn kept rolling at 19-1.
Auburn will host Lincoln Lutheran on Thursday, while Syracuse will bring in Conestoga on Friday. These will be the regular season finales for the girls' teams.
