Beer and cheese festival brings people in from across Nebraska

NORFOLK, Neb.— The seventh annual Beer and Cheese festival hosted by divots Brewery is happening in Norfolk.
The festival isn’t like all the others, Divots puts on this festival to get people together enjoying beer and cheese because…
“I like them both, and they go together, and I just want to make something different, more unique, and it's grown beyond that,” Jeremy Kirby the Brewmaster at Divots Brewery said.
Though the festival doesn’t only have those things, it also has bread, wine, chocolates and more. Which is exactly why third timers Andrew and Nicole decide to come back every year.
“It's kind of a variety. Like I've always thought there's a beer out there for everyone. You may not know what it is, but this is a great place to try it out and try something new, get out of your comfort zone,” Smith said.
The couple often bikes around Nebraska going to breweries and bringing beer home as gifts, so this festival makes perfect sense for them.
Jeremy the brewmaster at Divots says he enjoys seeing the finished product and have people, like Andrew and Nicole, enjoy his hard work.
“This year, we've got a little bit more food vendors, our new meat processor in town R&N meats,” Kirby said. “It's about the same, it's still nerve wracking to get it all together, though, and make sure it's 'cause it's all on me, if it works or if it doesn't work.”
And that hard work is visible by the span this festival has, bringing people in from Norfolk all the way to North Platte.
Jeremy says next year he wants to grow the event even more.
