Body found in irrigation canal in Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan police are investigating after a body was found in an irrigation canal near South West Street and the Brenda Joy Skate Park, with the identity of the deceased not yet determined.

FORT MORGAN, Colo. — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in an irrigation canal Tuesday in Fort Morgan.

According to the Fort Morgan Police Department, the body was found in the canal between the 100 block of South West Street and the Brenda Joy Skate Park. Officers with the Fort Morgan Police Department and deputies from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and remain involved in the investigation.

Police said the identity of the deceased has not yet been determined. No additional details were released, and officials said the investigation is ongoing.
