LINDSAY, Neb.- Events are already filling up the schedule in Lindsay as they open up their brand new event center.

“We are pretty much booked every weekend, probably up until roughly about May, and then we have at least one or two events through the end of the year,” Secretary and Treasurer for Lindsay Area Development Jenny Korth said.

The event center is connected to the school and wellness center but with its own entrance it feels like a whole different space.

In a community attitude study nine years ago the town of Lindsay had identified a need for a space like this.

Officially opening the 13 thousand square foot space last week the community has showed their support and gratitude.

“It was pretty incredible. When we started the project, there was a little bit of skepticism if this was something that was really going to fully come to fruition,” Korth said. “We are a very small community, but what feedback that we get as people come into the space for the first time is they're very impressed. They're surprised by the size.”

Complete with a kitchenette, storage room and even a full stage, the center is able to hold events from weddings, to fundraisers, to live concerts.

“So we would love to be able to host different performers, concerts, things like that in this venue and it has capability and the space to support that,” Korth said.
