Sidney And Greater Area Fund seeking summer intern

CHEYENNE COUNTY -- Sidney And Greater Area (SAGA) Fund is seeking a paid summer intern, an opportunity made possible through its affiliation with Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) and NCF’s Hometown Internship Program.
The program aims to help young adults deepen their connection to their Greater Nebraska hometown and contribute to community development efforts at the local and statewide level.
A Hometown Intern is a high school graduate who has spent at least six months away from home and lives at home for the summer. Students will be compensated for their work, but housing will not be provided. SAGA is particularly interested in young Nebraskans who possess curiosity, open-mindedness, flexibility, a desire to see their hometown through fresh eyes and a drive to contribute to the future of their community.
The Hometown Intern and SAGA committee members will begin their summer together attending an educational retreat where they will connect with their peers and be immersed in Asset-Based Community Development. Hometown Interns will work alongside members of the SAGA Advisory Committee to discover and unleash the assets in our community.
Hometown Interns work with local NCF affiliated funds on a mission of discovery tailored to their community and personal interests and skillsets. While activities will vary from one Hometown Intern to another, NCF will provide numerous opportunities for interns to connect throughout the summer to give them space to learn from each other, share ideas and foster appreciation for their hometowns while gaining valuable job experience.
Hometown Internships are available only in communities with an NCF affiliated fund, such as SAGA. Interns must be selected prior to March 31, so any student interested should fill out the application at https://sagafund.org/internship . Visit www.nebcommfound.org/hometowninternships to learn more about this opportunity.
