SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A Minatare man was arrested late Tuesday night following a reported shots fired incident in Scottsbluff, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched at 11:04 p.m. Jan. 20 to the 2100 block of Char Avenue after receiving a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two victims who reported that a male suspect fired two rounds into a vehicle.

Authorities said the vehicle was occupied by a single person at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.

Following an investigation, officers identified a suspect and later located him. Mario Albert Torres, 31, of Minatare, was taken into custody and arrested on multiple charges, including use of a firearm to commit a felony, terroristic threats, domestic violence, discharging of a firearm and criminal mischief.

Police said the incident remains under investigation. Assistance at the scene was provided by the Gering Police Department and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials did not release additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
