GRANT, Neb. — The Perkins County Schools Board of Education selected Ben Jones as the district’s next superintendent, the board announced this week.

Jones accepted the offer and will assume leadership of the district after most recently serving as the 7–12 principal and assistant athletic director at Silver Lake. His career also includes prior educational experience at Perkins County Schools, Blue Hill Community Schools and Stapleton Public Schools.

In a statement released by the district, Jones said he was drawn to Perkins County Schools because of the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a rural district.

“Ultimately, I am drawn to Perkins County Schools because it is a district where a superintendent can make a meaningful and lasting impact,” Jones said. “I value strong partnerships with the board, staff and community, and I believe my experience, work ethic and understanding of rural Nebraska schools position me to lead in a way that honors the district’s traditions while preparing it for the future.”

The board also welcomed Jones’ family, including his wife, Rebecca, and daughter, Harper, to the Grant community.
