GRANT, Neb. — Ogallala rolled to the team title at the Perkins County Girls Wrestling Invite on Tuesday, finishing first with 117 points.

Chase County placed second with 84 points, followed by Southwest at 79. Hershey was fourth with 44, and Wauneta-Palisade rounded out the top five at 40.5. Perkins County finished 11th with 21 points.

Southwest earned two individual titles. Capri Sayer won at 100 pounds, pinning Audrabell Werth of Mullen in 1:27 in the final. Alyssa Koch captured the 115-pound championship, ending the tournament with a 1:18 pin of Wauneta-Palisade’s Andrea Almanza.

Ogallala also put multiple wrestlers atop the podium. Jalie Barnhill claimed the 125-pound title with a 44-second fall over Gothenburg’s Payton Peterson. Joslyn Wyatt won at 140, and Anna Kroeger placed third at 190 behind champion Skylar Johnson of Paxton. Kanzah Arabi added a third-place finish for the Indians at 110.

Chase County had a pair of champions and strong depth. Paige Owens took the 130-pound title with a 1:34 pin of teammate Avery Cyboron, while Hayley Rusher won at 145 and stayed unbeaten at 25-0. Donna Valdez Chavira captured third at 140.

Other champions included Saviana Carrizales of Wauneta-Palisade at 110, Ceann McIntosh of Maxwell at 120, Ellaray Koch of Gothenburg at 135, Audrey Moorhead of South Platte at 155, Karleigh Didier of Hershey at 170, and Madelyn Tryon of Southwest at 235.
