College hoops roundup: Liotopoulos scores 17 as St. John's beats Creighton 90-73
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Lefteris Liotopoulos' 17 points off of the bench helped St. John's to a 90-73 victory against Creighton on Saturday.
Liotopoulos shot 6 for 10, including 5 for 8 from beyond the arc for the Red Storm (11-5, 4-1 Big East Conference). Oziyah Sellers scored 16 points while shooting 6 for 11, including 2 for 4 from beyond the arc and added six rebounds and five assists. Zuby Ejiofor shot 4 of 8 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line to finish with 12 points.
Isaac Traudt led the way for the Bluejays (10-7, 4-2) with 14 points. Blake Harper added 12 points for Creighton.
St. John's took the lead with 8:21 remaining in the first half and did not trail again. Sellers led in scoring with 14 points in the first half to help put the Red Storm up 52-34 at the break. St. John's pulled away with a 12-3 run in the second half to extend a 13-point lead to 22 points. They were outscored by Creighton in the second half by a one-point margin, but still wound up on top, as Ejiofor led the way with a team-high eight second-half points.
Wheeler-Thomas hits layup at buzzer, lifts North Dakota State over Omaha 78-76
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Damari Wheeler-Thomas took an inbound pass and ran the court for the game-winning layup at the buzzer, and North Dakota State rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to beat Omaha 78-76 on Saturday.
Treyson Anderson scored 22 points and added three blocks for the Bison (14-5, 4-0 Summit League). Wheeler-Thomas finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Trevian Carson also had 14 points for the Bison.
Paul Djobet led the Mavericks (8-11, 1-3) with 22 points, six rebounds and five assists. Christian Richardson added 21 points for Omaha. Tony Osburn also had 16 points.
Omaha led 44-32 at the break.
No. 14 Texas Tech hangs on for 73-71 victory at Colorado
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Donovan Atwell scored 17 points, JT Toppin had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and No. 14 Texas Tech held off a furious second-half rally by Colorado in a 73-71 victory Saturday night.
Christian Anderson added 15 points for the Red Raiders, making their first trip to Boulder in nearly 16 years. Atwell went 5 of 12 from 3-point distance as Texas Tech (12-4, 2-1 Big 12 Conference) won a true road game for the first time this season.
Isaiah Johnson scored all 21 of his points in the second half for Colorado (12-4, 2-1), which trailed by 24 before rallying. The Buffaloes had a chance to win at the end but Barrington Hargress missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Texas Tech opened the second half with seven straight points to lead 50-27. The Red Raiders went ahead 58-34 with 13:32 remaining but missed eight of their next nine shots and turned it over four times, allowing Colorado back into the game.
Johnson hit all 13 of his free throws in the final 13:07 and sparked a 21-3 run that made it 61-55 with 6:15 left. Atwell drained a pair of 3-pointers but the Buffaloes chipped away at the lead as Hargress, who scored 17 points, hit a jumper and Johnson sank two free throws.
Toppin dunked with 1:21 left, Johnson made a pair of foul shots and Texas Tech turned it over with 52 seconds to play. Sebastian Rancik made a corner 3 to cut the margin to two with 42 seconds remaining, and the Red Raiders had three chances to make it a two-possession game before Colorado grabbed a rebound with 12 seconds left.
The Buffaloes raced downcourt but Hargress missed a contested 25-footer to end it.

Camper's 31 lead Nevada over Wyoming 92-83
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Corey Camper Jr.'s 31 points led Nevada over Wyoming 92-83 on Saturday night.
Camper added seven rebounds for the Wolf Pack (12-4, 4-1 Mountain West Conference). Elijah Price scored 20 points while going 7 of 8 and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line and added 13 rebounds and three blocks. Amire Robinson shot 3 for 4, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc to finish with 10 points.
The Cowboys (11-5, 2-3) were led in scoring by Nasir Meyer, who finished with 27 points. Leland Walker added 14 points, four assists and two steals for Wyoming. Uriyah Rojas had 11 points.
Nevada turned a five-point second-half advantage into a 12-point lead with a 7-0 run to make it 84-72 with 4:02 remaining in the half. Price scored 14 second-half points in the victory.
South Dakota knocks off Denver 82-72
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Cameron Fens scored 23 points as South Dakota beat Denver 82-72 on Saturday.
Fens also contributed 12 rebounds and four blocks for the Coyotes (9-9, 1-2 Summit League). Isaac Bruns scored 20 points while going 8 of 12 and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line and added six rebounds. Jordan Crawford went 5 of 11 from the field (3 for 7 from 3-point range) to finish with 13 points.
Gabe Oldham led the Pioneers (8-11, 1-3) in scoring, finishing with 24 points, 13 rebounds and two steals. Denver also got 19 points from Zane Nelson. Carson Johnson also put up 11 points and six assists.
Edwin Suarez scores 18 to help Weber State down Northern Colorado 76-71
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Edwin Suarez had 18 points to lead Weber State to a 76-71 victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday night.
Suarez added eight rebounds for the Wildcats (9-8, 3-1 Big Sky Conference). Tijan Saine shot 3 for 6 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 10 of 11 from the free-throw line to add 17 points. Nigel Burris scored 11.
Brock Wisne and Quinn Denker both scored 17 to lead the Bears (11-6, 1-3). Wisne added seven rebounds and Denker had six assists. Ring Nyeri had 16 points and eight rebounds.
