ILIFF, Colo. - Firefighters responded to a structure fire early Christmas morning in Iliff, where a detached garage was heavily involved and threatening nearby structures, according to the Sterling Fire Department.

Fire crews from Station 1 were dispatched just before 3 a.m. on Christmas Day, along with deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, to a reported structure fire in Iliff. Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-car detached garage fully involved with heavy fire conditions, posing a risk to multiple nearby exposures.

The first engine on scene deployed multiple attack lines to protect surrounding structures while working to bring the fire under control. Crews remained on scene for an extended period to overhaul the building and its contents to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately released.

Responding units included Fire 1, Engine 10, Engine 12, Tender 16, Medic 1 and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
