OMAHA, Neb. -  Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested one person after a pursuit of a stolen U-Haul in Omaha.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. today, NSP received information about a U-Haul that had been reported stolen. The vehicle was reportedly in the area near 84th and 6th Street in Papillion. A trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled. The trooper initiated a pursuit.

The vehicle fled for approximately 20 minutes before coming to a dead end near 35th and Mason Streets. The suspect braked quickly, causing a collision with the trooper. The vehicle then stopped, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.

The driver, Heath Stockdale, 38, of Omaha, was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, assault of a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, theft by receiving stolen property, and numerous traffic violations. Stockdale was lodged in Sarpy County Jail.
