HASTINGS, Neb. — A Hastings man who was already a registered sex offender is now facing federal charges related to possessing child porn.

The federal Grand Jury for the District of Nebraska announced the unsealed indictment for 60-year-old Eric Gerlach on Thursday. Gerlach faces one count of receipt of child porn and one count of possession of child porn. The first offense is alleged to have happened between May 10 and May 12. The second offense is alleged to have been on May 20.

If convicted, the first count carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and the second count carries a minimum of 10 years.

Gerlach is already listed in the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. He was previously convicted of a possessing child porn in 2006.
