LINCOLN, Neb. - The Nebraska Department of Transportation has announced the latest round of the County Bridge Match Program.

Nine counties will receive funding to improve fifteen bridges, totaling nearly $10-million in construction, with $4-million coming from the program itself.

The selected projects span counties across the state:

-Boone County will replace two structures at Beaver Creek, using concrete slab and precast deck panel designs.

-Cass County plans a concrete slab bridge replacement at Fourmile Creek.

-Cuming County will replace a bridge near Plum Creek.

-Gage County will rebuild two sites near Bear Creek and a nearby stream crossing using concrete box culverts.

-Howard County has three replacement projects planned—at Oak Creek, a stream near Farwell, and Turkey Creek—all utilizing steel girder structures.

-Lancaster County will remove and replace one bridge near Hickman with a concrete slab structure and remove another that no longer requires replacement.

-Saline County will rebuild three sites at Turkey Creek, Friend, and Fillmore Creeks, all with concrete box culverts.

-Sarpy County will replace a structure at Springfield Creek with a concrete slab design.

Estimated project costs range from approximately $800,000 to $1.55 million, with most selected counties receiving the program’s maximum reimbursement of $500,000.

Over the past decade, the County Bridge Match Program has repaired or replaced 390 bridges and generated more than $108 million in construction activity.
