WAYNE, Neb.- One running back from northeast Nebraska has be nominated as the best player In the country after a record breaking year.

Wayne States Very own Dawson Forgy is one of 36 athletes nominated for the 2025 Harlon Hill Trophy as the Division II College Football Player of the Year.

The redshirt junior runningback was named All-NSIC South Division First Team Offense after setting numerous single season rushing and scoring records for the Wildcats.

Forgy on the season lead the NSIC in rushing for 1,400 yards, yards per game at 127.3 and rushing touchdowns with 19.

For his own school Forgy set a new single season record scoring 126 points and 21 total touchdowns. He also tied the single season record with seven 100-yard games.

Sports information directors at the 159 NCAA Division II football-playing schools nominate and vote on the award.

The winner of the 2025 award will be announced on Friday, December 19.
