Barn fire quickly extinguished east of Sterling
Sterling firefighters quickly knocked down a barn fire Thursday morning on CR 48. No people or livestock were inside, and the fire was contained to the building’s interior. No injuries reported.

STERLING, Colo. - Fire crews responded to a barn fire early Thursday morning in rural Logan County and quickly contained the flames to the building’s interior, according to the Sterling Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched just before 7 a.m. to the 26000 block of County Road 48. When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from a small barn. Property owners told firefighters no people or livestock were inside at the time.
Crews deployed an attack line and located a fire confined to the barn’s interior. The blaze was extinguished and overhauled without additional spread.
Responding units included Engine 10, Tender 16, Medic 4 and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
