AURORA, Colo. - The Colorado High School Activities Association finalized the 2025 state championship matchups in 8-man and 6-man football, with both title games set for Friday, Nov. 28, at the CSU ThunderBowl in Pueblo.

The 6-man championship will kick off the weekend at 1:30 p.m., where No. 1 Idalia meets No. 2 Stratton. Idalia rolled past Peetz 52-0 in the semifinals and is seeking its ninth state football championship — but its first since 2010. All of the Wolves’ titles came between 1998 and 2010.

Stratton reached its ninth straight 6-man final with a 28-24 win over defending champion Cheyenne Wells. The Eagles have won 10 state football championships and will be playing in their 20th title game. Idalia defeated Stratton 80-32 in a regular-season matchup on Sept. 26.

At 5 p.m., the 8-man championship features a rematch between No. 1 Akron and No. 2 Haxtun. Akron advanced with a 39-16 win over Sanford and is seeking its first 8-man title after previously winning six championships in Class 1A. The Rams played for eight 1A titles between 2001 and 2009.

Haxtun, the defending champion, earned a 50-8 victory over McClave to reach the final for the fourth time in five years. The Bulldogs have won seven 8-man championships and nine state titles overall. Akron edged Haxtun 28-24 in their regular-season meeting on Oct. 10.
