NEBRASKA CITY – A mother and her son are charged in Otoe County with possession of 26 pounds of cocaine following a Nov. 13 traffic stop on Highway 2 near Syracuse.

Arrest affidavits say the deputy pulled over the car for a license plate holder partially blocking the view of the Florida plates. He questioned the driver, 61-year-old Tina Trimble of Oviedo, Fla., who did not provide vehicle registration as requested.

He also questioned the passenger, 37-year-old Michael Trimble of Marcus Hook, Penn., who reportedly handed the deputy a marijuana cigarette and THC gummies.

The deputy said the car was eastbound on Highway 2 and he was told the pair was visiting Las Vegas.

The deputy said he searched the trunk of the sedan and found bricks of cocaine weighing 2.2 pounds each. The deputy also seized $7,000 in cash.

A county judge set a $4 million bond for Tina Trimble and $5 million bond for Michael Trimble.

Zinnia Health places the street value of an ounce of cocaine between $1,680 and $5,600. If the value is $1,300 an ounce of 30 percent purity, the street value of the seized cocaine would be about $540,000. If the street value is $5,600 per ounce, the street value would be $2.3 million.

At the low end, the street value of the cocaine would be $332,000.
