Pine Bluffs repeats as 1A nine-man champion with 48-0 win over Rocky Mountain

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Pine Bluffs cemented itself as the premier force in Wyoming’s nine-man football ranks Saturday, rolling to a 48-0 victory over Rocky Mountain to claim the WHSAA Class 1A nine-man state championship at War Memorial Stadium.
The Hornets won back-to-back titles and secured their third championship in the past four seasons. The victory marks the fifth state title in Pine Bluffs history.
Carsten Freeburg finished with 95 rushing yards, 189 passing yards and three total touchdowns. The senior quarterback scrambled for a 61-yard touchdown on the second play of the game.
The Pine Bluff defense picked off Rocky Mountain twice.
Saturday’s shutout continued one of the state’s most dominant runs. Pine Bluffs has not lost a game since Oct. 18, 2024.
