Community support sought for Sidney family

SIDNEY -- On November 6, Jared Weber of Sidney was driving a 2019 Dodge Durango west on Interstate 80 about three miles east of Chappell in the passing lane.
According to the accident report, Weber stated the truck-trailer in front of him merged into the right lane. Weber’s Durango then collided with an unoccupied Nebraska Department of Transportation truck parked in the passing lane. The NDOT truck was warning of a truck fire.
The front seat passenger and rear seat passenger were transported to Sidney Regional Medical Center by EMS. Weber was transported by law enforcement. Both passengers were flown by medical helicopters to a next level trauma center; the front passenger to Kearney and the rear passenger to Denver Children’s Hospital.
The family is struggling with their children in two different hospitals. To help ease some of the immediate stress, we’re organizing a Meal Train for the family. To contribute, please provide frozen meals with clear cooking instructions and temperatures labeled on top. There are no dietary restrictions at this time.
Financial support can be given through Venmo for Jared at @jared-weber-12
