Kearney Cancer Center to open Monday, Nov. 17th

KEARNEY, Neb. — A major expansion of cancer services is coming to central Nebraska as Kearney prepares to open a new comprehensive cancer center.
The Kearney Cancer Center will open Monday, Nov. 17, 2025. The 25,000-square-foot facility sits at 904 22nd Ave., between Kearney Regional Medical Center and Yanney Park.
The center is a joint venture between Kearney Regional Medical Center and Cancer Partners of Nebraska, an independent physician group.
The partnership was announced in May 2023, and aims to give residents local access to coordinated cancer care and reduce long-distance travel for treatment and surgery.
The facility brings expert clinical teams, advanced technology and a patient-first model into one location.
On-site services include PET/CT diagnostic imaging, lab testing and seamless coordination with hospital imaging, surgery and advanced care.
The care team will include Swetha Yadav, MD, MPH (hematology/medical oncology); Justin Burr, MD (radiation oncology); Shelby Miller, APRN-NP; and Melissa de la Torre, RN (oncology nurse navigator), who will guide patients through diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
The center also offers access to national clinical trials through two networks, features healing spaces with garden views and natural light, and houses an Image Vitality store open to the public for certified mastectomy fittings, compression garments and prosthetics.
