Valentine record-setting high jumper signs with North Dakota State

VALENTINE, Neb. - A standout Valentine High School athlete who tied the state high jump record at last spring’s Class C state track meet has officially signed to compete for North Dakota State University.
As a junior, Isaac Cronin cleared 6 feet, 10 inches at the state meet — a mark that not only tied the Nebraska Class C record but also ranked 28th in the nation last season. Cronin also turned in strong performances in other events, narrowly missing gold in the 300-meter hurdles (extremely close second) and placing sixth in the long jump.
News Channel Nebraska also featured Cronin in a news story ahead of the State meet. No doubt Cronin has big goals for his Senior year.
“My goal is 7 feet and a state championship,” Cronin told News Channel Nebraska last May.
He already holds three school records at Valentine: high jump, 110-meter hurdles, and 300-meter hurdles.
