Pine Bluffs finishes fourth at Wyoming Class 2A State Volleyball Tournament

CASPER - The Pine Bluffs Hornets capped an impressive postseason run with a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Wyoming High School Class 2A State Volleyball Championships on Saturday at the Ford Wyoming Center.
Pine Bluffs opened the tournament with a stunning first-round upset, defeating top-seeded Greybull in straight sets 25-17, 28-26, 25-17. The Hornets advanced to the semifinals, where they fell to eventual state champion Big Horn 25-17, 20-25, 25-12.
In Saturday’s consolation bracket, Pine Bluffs rebounded with a sweep of Big Piney (25-22, 25-13, 25-11) to reach the third-place match. The Hornets fell against Tongue River to finish fourth overall.
Big Horn captured the state title with a win over Sundance, while Tongue River finished third.
Meanwhile, the Pine Bluffs football team will compete for the 1A-9-Man state championship at the University of Wyoming in Laramie on Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Rocky Mountain.
