AURORA — The Colorado High School Activities Association released the 2025 girls state volleyball tournament brackets, with several northeast Colorado programs earning spots across multiple classifications.

All five state tournaments - Class 1A through 5A - will be held Thursday through Saturday at the Denver Coliseum. Matches begin at 8 a.m. each day, with all championship contests scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m.

Class 1A
Merino, who won four-straight state titles from 2020 to 2023, earned the No. 1 overall seed and opens play against No. 8 Sargent on Thursday at 8 a.m. The winner advances to face either No. 4 Flatirons Academy or No. 5 Granada in the quarterfinals.

Fleming, the No. 3 seed, will take on No. 11 Plateau Valley in its first-round match at 11 a.m. Thursday. =

Caliche, seeded No. 12, opens play against No. 5 Granada at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Class 2A
In Class 2A, Holyoke secured the No. 4 seed and will play either No. 5 Sanford or No. 12 Yuma in the second round Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

Yuma, the No. 12 seed, opens the tournament against No. 5 Sanford at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, while Sedgwick County, the No. 7 seed, meets No. 10 Ignacio at 12:30 p.m.

Sedgwick County, a perennial power, won their third state championship in four years last season.

Class 3A
Sterling, the No. 8 seed in Class 3A, faces No. 9 Gunnison in the opening match of the tournament Thursday at 8 a.m. 

Each classification’s bracket features double-elimination play through Saturday, culminating in championship matches at 6 p.m.

Before the finals begin, CHSAA will hold a 50 Years of Girls Volleyball Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, honoring its first-ever state champions: Mitchell, Columbine, Valley, Platte Valley, Prairie and Limon.
