Blackshirts prep for high powered USC offense

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska will look to check a few boxes on Saturday night, including getting their first ever win over USC, win in November, and end a near 30-game streak of losses to Top 25 opponents.

In order to do that, they’ll have to go through the Big Ten’s best pass defense in #23 USC. Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava is having a carer year, averaging 311 passing yards per game.

The Blackshirts know they’re in for a challenge.

“It’s a great challenge for our young defense,” Defensive Coordinator John Butler said. “It’ll eb great to go out and play in a Great environment against a good offense."

The Huskers encounter the best offense in college football, as the Trojans enter averaging 530 yards per game. The Trojans also sit third in the country in passing offense, while they also hold a Top 20 rushing unit.

While it’s a challenge for the Husker defense, DB’s Deshon Singleton and Ceyair Wright say that’s sjomply the Big Ten in 2025.

“They’re talented, I get it. But that makes our team excited,” Singleton said. “We’re going out there to compete and as a competitor you want to compete against talented guys.”

“I think being in the Big Ten, you’re going to go against competitive teams each and eery week,” Wright said. “They’re a very talented and we are very excited to get a chance to compete with them, but they’re a challenge for sure. Just like everybody else.”
