SIDNEY, Neb. - The Sidney Police Department is investigating a stolen vehicle that was involved in multiple hit-and-run incidents Tuesday night.

Police say a gray 2008 Chevrolet Impala was stolen between 10:26 p.m. and 11:11 p.m. Friday on King Street, close to Central Elementary School. The car was later recovered by Sidney Police behind a residence near 10th Avenue and Pine Street.

Investigators believe the vehicle was involved in several hit-and-run incidents within Sidney city limits before being recovered. The department is still determining the amount of damage and encourages anyone who discovered new vehicle damage Wednesday morning to report it to the police.

Sidney Police are asking residents with security or doorbell cameras in the area to check for any footage showing people walking nearby during the time of the theft, or video that may help identify the suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information or video footage is asked to contact the Sidney Police Department at (308) 254-5515.

Police also remind residents to lock their vehicles, remove keys and valuables and report suspicious activity immediately.
