Nationwide No Kings protest sparks in Norfolk
NORFOLK, Neb.- Norfolk joined in on the nation wide No Kings protests today.
The No Kings protest is aimed at the current administration's polices.
Protesters were most vocal against current immigration tactics, speaking out against raids by masked ICE agents.
Over 50 people were out from all ages on the corner of 1st St. and Norfolk Ave. with signs and in costumes.
The protest itself was peaceful. Organizer Paul Mauncy wants the public to know that the message they want to spread is one of love.
“The main thing we're standing for is loving our neighbors and those neighbors whether they are immigrants whether they're trans-folk, whether they're liberal or conservative, all Americans deserve love. All humans deserve love. That is why we're here today,” said Mauncy.
The protest was the third mass mobilization since Trump's return to the White House and came against the backdrop of a government shutdown.
Nebraska has four more protests than it did the last time the protests happened back in June.
