BRIDGEPORT - Eight area teams will battle for the Minuteman Activities Conference volleyball title Saturday in Bridgeport. The single-day tournament begins at 9 a.m. with games played in both the main and auxiliary gyms at Bridgeport High School.

Top-seeded Garden County opens the tournament against Creek Valley in the main gym at 9 a.m., while No. 2 Bayard faces No. 7 Banner County in the auxiliary gym. The winners advance to the semifinals, set for 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

Other first-round matchups include No. 3 Minatare taking on No. 6 Leyton, and No. 4 South Platte facing No. 5 Potter-Dix.

Championship and placement matches are scheduled for the afternoon, with the title match set for 3:15 p.m. in the main gym. Fifth- and seventh-place games will be played in the auxiliary gym at the same time.
