Nebraska Game and Parks Stock Ta-Ha-Zouka park with 1,500 trout
NORFOLK,Neb.- The fish are flowing, and all ages are out with their line in the water.
The Nebraska Games and parks stocked the lake at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Norfolk with 1,500 Rainbow Trout Thursday morning.
Game and parks officials are stocking lakes across the state with catchable 10 inch sized trout. The stocking happens during the fall and spring when the weather is cooler and oxygen levels in the water are optimal.
Tom Henderson says that he’s grateful to have a lake full of fish to try and catch.
“And to me trout is one of the best tasting fishes so I get a meal or two when I do this, I am very thankful for the game and parks for doing it,” said Henderson.
Game and parks Started stocking 61 lakes and creeks with roughly 44,000 trout in September and will finish the week of October 27.
Game and parks officials are also seeking input from trout anglers through a survey that can be found at OutdoorNebraska.gov. Information from this survey will be used to inform future trout management and stocking decisions.
