Midwest Music Center Announces New Ownership After Nearly Three Decades of Local Service

NORFOLK, Neb. – After serving the Norfolk community for nearly three decades, Midwest Music Center will soon enter a new chapter. Longtime owners Chad and Amy Barnhill have announced the sale of the business to Andrew Borer of Norfolk, effective November 1, 2025.
Chad Barnhill has been a part of Midwest Music Center since 1996 and has owned the store since 2008.
“After 29 years, it felt like the right time to find someone who could continue the legacy of Midwest Music Center. Norfolk still needs a music store downtown, and we wouldn’t be here today without the fantastic support of our Northeast Nebraska customers.”
New owner Andrew Borer is a familiar name in the local music scene. A Norfolk native, Borer has worked with the Norfolk Senior High drumline for several years and was once one of Barnhill’s own drumline students. He also owns Bespoke Entertainment, a successful DJ business he launched in Norfolk.
Although stepping down as owner, Barnhill will remain actively involved with Midwest Music Center for the foreseeable future to assist with operations and sound/video installations during the transition.
“The store will continue as normal,” Barnhill added. “There will just be a new owner — and I’ll still be here to help customers like before.”
Midwest Music Center first opened its doors in 1995 under the ownership of Larry and Brenda Jones at the corner of 4th & Norfolk Avenue. The business relocated in 2011 to its current location at 311 W. Norfolk Avenue, offering a larger storefront and expanded services for musicians, schools, and churches throughout Northeast Nebraska.
As for what comes next, Barnhill plans to devote more time to his other business, Barnhill Piano Service, which provides piano tuning and maintenance throughout the region.
“It’s been an incredible 29 years in the music retail business,” Barnhill said. “We’re so grateful for the support this community has shown Midwest Music Center, and I’m confident Andrew will continue that tradition for years to come.”
