SCOTTSBLUFF — Aurora senior Julia Messere and Minden senior KayLynn Jorgensen captured individual state titles Tuesday as the Nebraska School Activities Association Girls State Golf Championships wrapped up in Scottsbluff and North Platte.

At the Scottsbluff Country Club, Messere shot rounds of 82 and 80 for a two-day total of 162 (+18) to win the Class B individual title. Scottsbluff senior Addison Peck and Gretna East junior Ellie Henn tied for second at 164.

Omaha Duchesne Academy rallied on the final day to claim the Class B team championship with a two-round score of 694, edging Elkhorn North by one stroke (695) for the second straight year. Lasty year, the Cardinals mounted a back nine surge that propelled them to a one-shot team win over the Wolves. It was the Cardinals fourth consecutive team title and their eighth since 2015. Gretna East finished third at 715 and Scottsbluff placed fourth with 730.

Sidney senior Aubrey Campbell led the Lady Raiders, finishing tied for 52nd with a two-round total of 199 (+55). Sidney finished in a tie with Gering for 11th place. 

In Class C, played at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte, Minden completed a dominant performance to win the team title with a 649 total - 63 strokes ahead of runner-up Scotus Central Catholic (712) - to win their 12th team title. West Holt placed third at 741.

Jorgensen led wire to wire, carding rounds of 74 and 69 to finish at 143 (-1), the lowest score across all classes. Her sister, Macy Jorgensen, finished second at 154, while H&H’s Mia Hiebner placed third with 156.

Kimball senior Aubrey Culek shot a two-round total of 197 (+53) to finish tied for 46th in Class C.
