BEATRICE, Neb. - The Beatrice Lady Orange will officially have a chance to defend their Class B State Championship.
The Lady Orange locked up a spot in the NSAA Class B state tournament after a sweep of Elkhorn on Friday. Beatrice would win game one 8-7 in eight innings before an 8-1 win in game two.
Beatrice locked up game one after a walk-off sac fly by Tatum Tempelmeyer to score Miley Loomis. Beatrice started fast in game two, leading 5-0 after one inning.
Sadie Hereth recorded two homers on the day, while Layla Boyko was strong in the circle recording eight total strikeouts in four total innings across the two games.
Beatrice begins the state tournament Wednesday in Hastings.
