Lourdes Central Catholic Spoils Weeping Water Homecoming With 55-6 Triumph

WEEPING WATER, NE - The Lourdes Central Catholic Knights continued their strong season on Friday, dominating Weeping Water in a battle of 4-1 teams, 55-6, as heard on Otoe County Country.
The Indians had a number of self-inflicted issues, starting on the opening kickoff. WW returned that opening kick to the house, but the touchdown was called off due to a block in the back. Two other penalties from Weeping Water gave LCC very short fields on two different drives in the opening quarter. The Knights ended up with a 24-0 lead after the first frame thanks to two TD runs from Callen Schnitzer, one TD carry from Alec Schnitzer, and a safety.
WW continued to get penalized in the second quarter, while LCC tacked on two more TD's from Callen Schnitzer (one run & one pass) to build a 39-0 advantage at the break.
Each team scored once in the third. Callen Schnitzer tossed it to Oscar Krog for their second TD connection of the night, while Tucker Bickford chugged in from 27 yards out for the host squad.
The final frame saw LCC add nine more points with a Justus Kreifels fieldgoal from 31 yards out & a Noah Boyer TD carry.
Callen Schnitzer finished with three TD runs & two TD passes (both to Krog).
Weeping Water will look to bounce back on Friday at Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, while Lourdes Central Catholic will host fellow 5-1 team Johnson County Central. Catch that LCC v. JCC game at 7pm on Otoe County Country.
