Two-car crash in Norfolk sends one to hospital
Norfolk, Neb. — One person was hospitalized with minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision in Norfolk, according to the Norfolk Police Division. The incident occurred when one of the vehicles failed to completely stop at a stop sign.
The Norfolk Police Department and Fire and Rescue teams responded to the scene at the intersection of S. 6th St. and W. Madison St. around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2.
Prior to the arrival of first responders, a witness recounted the scene to News Channel Nebraska. "I saw a car flipping and I sprinted to the car. By the time I got there, the car was back on four wheels. Two ladies were trapped and had to be helped by the officers once they arrived. Another bystander helped a woman out of the other car before the paramedics and firemen arrived. I wasn’t able to do much but call 911."
Authorities have stated that the crash remains under investigation. Police will review video footage from nearby buildings to determine the cause of the accident.
