Scribner, NE – Jordan Vaughn, 34, of Scribner, Nebraska, received a 60-year prison sentence on September 11, 2025, after being convicted on two counts of producing child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods.

Judge Susan M. Bazis in Lincoln, Nebraska, ordered Vaughn to serve 360 months for each count, consecutively, totaling 720 months. The federal system does not offer parole. Following his imprisonment, Vaughn will be subject to a lifetime of supervised release.

The investigation began after Vaughn was caught sending explicit images to a minor. Further investigation revealed multiple instances of Vaughn sexually abusing children aged 12 and under, with digital evidence of the assaults recovered. Vaughn also assaulted victims while they were asleep. A search of Vaughn’s phone uncovered extensive child pornography and evidence of its production. Vaughn was a former officer with the Winnebago Police Department, terminated due to these offenses.

U.S. Attorney Woods stated that the prosecution ended the victimization of vulnerable children, removed a predator from law enforcement, and prevented further harm.

The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation. It was investigated by the Lincoln Police Department and the Omaha FBI's Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
