SHELTON, Neb. - Police respond to a trespassing call in Shelton Thursday which escalated into a standoff with four agencies on scene.

According to police, officers were called around 11:15 a.m. to a home in the 500 block of F street for a report of an unwanted subject.

Officers found 41-year-old Giovanni Morales inside the house.

Police say Morales was already wanted on a misdemeanor warrant, and when advised he was under arrest, Morales locked the doors and refused to leave.

Negotiators attempted to talk him out, but those efforts failed.

The homeowners were not home during the incident, but gave permission to officers to enter the house where Morales barricaded himself in a bedroom, according to Police.

The emergency service unit was called to assist, but before they arrived, Morales was apprehended.

Police say he resisted arrest and was bitten by a police dog.

Morales was taken to jail on charges of failure to appear, trespassing, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Kearney Police, Nebraska State Patrol, and Shelton Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Unit all assisted Shelton police at the scene.
