25 lots now available for purchase in northeast Nebraska
WISNER, Neb.— On the outskirts of Wisner, what looks like open land, is now open to become something bigger.
The Grandview Addition Phase B is officially complete, opening up 16 lots for sale and finishing the pavement.
“Total there are 33 residential lots, and 8 of those are sold,” Wisner Community Development President Allen Harms said.
The Wisner Community Development held a ribbon cutting Thursday, where they also announced all lots will be on sale until next year.
“We wanted to bring interest to the area,” Wisner Community Development Office Manager Ruth Bloedorn said. “To showcase what we already have started. The infrastructure is done and it’s ready to go.”
Lots were originally priced at $25,000 and now are on sale for $15,000 until 2026.
Including the available lots from Phase A of the project, there are 25 lots currently for sale. Harms says there are lots available for all types of houses. He knows that small communities need these big developments in order to thrive.
“But if you don’t keep moving forward, I noticed you move backwards,” Harms said. “As I mentioned as I traveled I’d see communities where a lot of the downtown businesses were boarded up and houses just, quite frankly, didn’t look very good. And I just didn’t want to see Wisner fall into that.”
There is not just residential lots in this addition,12 commercial lots were made, four of those lots are sold to places such as a distillery and a storage unit.
The hope of the addition is to bring in more people to the community, the lots are open to everyone from new families to contractors looking to build and sell.
“This is a great location, it is a grand view. It’s the Grandview Addition,” Harms said. “But there’s a grand view of the Elkhorn River Valley. Somebody when they first got here mentioned to me, man you can see Pilger from here, and yes you can.”
Phase A of this addition was completed a couple years ago.
