In a social media post the Buffalo County Sheriffs Office states they suspect no foul play and that Hellman left the area on foot.

Deputies are actively investigating and following up on leads

GIBBON, Neb.— The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a missing teenager.

16-year-old Derek Hellman was last seen Wednesday morning in Gibbon.

Hellman has blue eyes, red hair, is 5’7”, and around 130 pounds.

BCSO said he might be carrying a grey camouflage backpack.
