TILDEN - It was a great night to be named Werner, as Jarett threw for 4 scores, ran for another, and Korbin caught 2 TDs and booted 5 touchbacks en route to a 54-18 Elkhorn Valley win over Humphrey/Lindsay Friday night.

The game had all the makings of a shootout early, when both squads score on their opening possessions. The Bulldogs answered Jarett Werner's rushing TD with a Cash Hastreiter 65-yard house call on Humphrey/Lindsay's first play from scrimmage.

After that, it was all Elkhorn Valley -- Jarett tossed 4 touchdowns, 2 apiece to Korbin and Logan Black, on the QB's way to a 15-for-18, 215 yd night. Korbin Werner also forced the Bulldogs to go the long way offensively, when all of his kickoffs when through the end zone for touchbacks.

Hastreiter was one of the bright spots on the night for Humphrey/Lindsay, finishing with 101 yards to go along with his score.

Elkhorn Valley (2-1) heads to Plainview next Friday, while Humphrey/Lindsay (1-2) hosts Madison that night.
